Welcome to the World Miss Sadie!

Just a note of congratulations to my dear friends Chris and Niki. They welcomed a gorgeous little girl, Sadie, into their family early this morning, making their daughter, Moira a proud, big sister.

Mummy and baby are doing great! Daddy is so proud he's glowing, and I'm thrilled to heaven for them all!

I love you guys!

I know I'm not alone in hoping for the best and brightest future for little Miss Sadie, and for blessings and love for the entire family.

Mourning and Loss

This year, so far, has been a difficult one for many of us. Politics and our activism aside (or as far aside as we can place something so close to our hearts, so innate to who we are), it's not quite the end of the first quarter, and already there have been losses in my family, and in the families of my friend-family. These losses, these deaths, have come with, and without, warning. Some of my friends are in their own watches, waiting for someone they love and adore to pass from life-- knowing it could be tomorrow, or it could be months from now, but wait they do. No More Pink Ribbons

Even if I can only send 5 or 10 bucks each, every one of them got a money order, a cheque or an online debit payment. I never made a big deal out of it-- I mean, who does, right? You send in your pennies, and I send in my pennies, and soon our pennies add up to dollars that can really help. At least, that's the idea. Monday, the 20th of January the Susan G Komen Foundation * announced they would no longer partner with Planned Parenthood in order to help provide breast cancer screenings to poor and uninsured women.
